Portals

The number of evil portals remaining is stored in $506. The number of good portals remaining is stored in $508.

All portals produce a limited amount of growth. Once they have done this they continue sporing, but stop growing.

When we get to Cancer, we start seeing duplicate portal locations in the level data. These are the ‘high power’ portals. These look like regular portals in the game, but grow at an accelerated rate. This must mean that the portals are stored in an array that gets iterated through when determining the growth calculations, as these portals can grow at double or triple the rate of other regular portals.
