Constellations

The twelve zodiac star sign constellations are where the game is played. In each constellation there are three stars that must be completed to win the constellation. Once a constellation is won, you can play up to three levels higher. To win the game, you must win the constellation of Sagittarius.

The current constellation is stored in $5C0 and the highest constellation that can be selected is stored in $5DC. In the star map, the number of stars remaining to be won in the constellation is stored in $5CA, and the selected star (0, 1 or 2) is stored in $5C6. I’ve used these values to label the levels in the game as C1S0, C1S1, C1S2, C2S0 etc.

This makes a total of 36 levels, but the game can be won by playing a minimum of 12 levels (Virgo -> Gemini -> Pisces -> Sagittarius). Level data can be found in the links below.

When we get to Cancer, we start seeing duplicate portal locations in the level data. These are the ‘high power’ portals. These look like regular portals in the game, but grow at an accelerated rate.
